SUN AND MOON TEMPLES

We will through the different levels of the Moon Pyramid. Following its narrow paths, we will find ambiences that represent bloody rituals and ceremonies. We will see repeated images of God Aia-Paec, which is supposed to have been the main god for the Moche civilization. Then, we will arrive to the highest point of the pyramid where recent excavations reveal stunning walls.  Also, we will see the north side façade which is decorated with impressive figures showing their day by day life as well as some rituals and sacrifices. Maybe, one of the strangest figures is the one representing a group of naked prisoners being led to what it seems to be an execution. Additionally, we will visit the Moche Museum located a few meters from the Moon Pyramid. Our visit to this museum complements our archaeological visit and enriches our experience in the Moche Valley. Finally, we will visit an artisan atelier where direct Moche descendants produce pottery using ancient techniques
