SOUTH VALLEY TOUR

We begin this tour with a visit to Andahuaylillas Church, known as the “Sistine Chapel of America” since XVI century due to the high quality of its religious art works. The Jesuits built this church on XVI century and early XVII on and ancient Inca building, of which the Inca foundations are still preserved. Its internal baroque decoration takes your breath away and all its spaces are almost completely covered by paintings, sculptures and carved works.   Afterwards, we will continue to Tipon, where we will visit its archaeological site which consists in an irrigation system with vertical channels on the terraces walls. We will continue towards Piquillaqta, the pre-Inca region of Cusco, developed by Wari Culture that was born in Ayacucho and dates from 800 BC.  On return way to Cusco, you can taste typical and delicious Cusco dishes such as “chicharrones” or baked guinea pigs.
