PACHACAMAC

We will begin learning about Andean civilizations and will discover the everyday life of Moche, Huari and Inca cultures. We will visit the impressive Pachacamac citadel to learn about its oracle whose fame made the area become the most important ceremonial center of the Inca Empire. We will get closer to the remains of the Sun Temple built by the Incas with thousands of adobe bricks. From the top we can see the Pacific Ocean and the esplanade where the ruins of this cult center rest. We will also see the main archaeological remains of Acllawasi citadel, a sacred place where the virgins who were sacrificed every year as an offering to the Sun God lived.
