CHOQUEQUIRAO

It is a trip full of nature, adventure and culture.  Choquequirao is located on the high ridge of the mountain, surrounded by very high snowy peaks; it is a remote Inca lost city very nlittle visited.  Its name means “Golden Cradle” in Quechua and it is believed that it was the place where the las Inca governors took over when they escaped after have lost Cusco city from Spanish conquerors. The complex consists in nine architectural stone groups and a system of 180 platforms, besides the area of residential houses, administrative and artisan sections and irrigation system among other stone constructions.  Each area had different purposes and were linked byn pedestrian access to the main plaza.  It also has an intricate hydraulic system probably designated for home, ritual and agricultural purposes.
